Safety is No Accident
After a number of rafting accidents upon the Sjoa River in the end of the 1980’s and the beginning of the 1990’s, our manager from VRS Frode Solbakk took the initiative to set down an new updated and improved version of internal regulations for rafting safety awareness in Norway. At the same time due to these accidents, the state came out with a general set of rules guidelines and regulations for each rafting company to abide by.
VRS has since then been strongly active in bettering our safety procedures to give our customers not only a fun experience, but a safe one as well in all of our products. VRS was the first rafting company to have full responsibility insurance for all of our activities. VRS's active focus on safety has earned us certified competence to arrange tours for the Naval Defence in Bergen from their High Command. VRS has over the years held safety courses for Bergen Fire Dept, Red Cross, safety training for Esso-Exxonmobil, and also been involved in several rescues in the Hordaland district.
VRS takes our hole operation seriously, and safety to our customers is of utmost concern. We also pride ourselves on not having any fatalities since the inception of VRS.
